The Engineer Program is recommended for TxDOT Area, District, Design, Project, and Maintenance Engineers, and CE&I Firms. Participants will better understand how to specify, design, construct, and maintain quality, longer-lasting asphalt pavements.
The Inspector Program is recommended for TxDOT Inspectors, CE&I Firms, and City/County Inspectors. Participants will better understand key aspects of production and construction necessary to provide proper inspection services for asphalt pavement projects.
The Plant Operations Program is recommended for Plant Superintendents, Foremen, and Quality Control Personnel. Participants will better understand key aspects of plant operations necessary to apply best practices when working with asphalt at the plant.
The Roadway Operations Program is recommended for Plant Superintendents, Foremen, Quality Control Personnel, and Project Managers. Participants will better understand key aspects of asphalt pavement construction (from surface preparation through compaction) necessary to apply best practices when constructing asphalt roads.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE TEXAS ASPHALT PAVEMENT QUALITY INITIATIVE WORKSHOPS:
- Courses are designed with the participant in mind; the focus is on interactive and experiential learning. We promise to use PowerPoint responsibly!
- From hands-on learning to equipment demonstrations, these courses will deliver the highest quality education available in the Asphalt Industry.
- Classroom learning is tied to an online resource where participants can access course materials and additional course content; its a one-stop experience for everything asphalt in Texas.
- Each participant will take away what they need to know to do their job safely, more efficiently, and more effectively.

WHO SHOULD ENROLL?
We encourage all interested participants to enroll in multiple courses for a well-rounded education in asphalt pavements.
WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM LAUNCH?
The Engineer Program debuts in March, 2020, with subsequent courses available in April, 2020.
WHERE ARE WORKSHOPS HELD?
Classes are held at the TXAPA Campus in Buda, Texas, virtually in our online learning environment, or at your location.**
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
Course vary in length from one to four days.
WHAT KIND OF CREDIT DO PARTICIPANTS EARN?
The TXAPQI Program is designed to add asphalt-specific knowledge to the professional toolkits of those tasked with specifying, designing, inspecting, and building asphalt projects. The workshops may be required or strongly encouraged by your employer.
The TXAPQI Program courses are considered professional development and are eligible for PDH credits. At this time, the program does not offer certification.
