One week from today, Robert Lee and Dale Rand will face off during a live, virtual game show: TXAPA Squares! Who will...Posted by Texas Asphalt Pavement Association on Thursday, September 17, 2020
Because COVID-19 has disrupted live events, we weren't able to have our annual meeting or the auction that supports the TXAPA Scholarship Program. Like many organizations, we have had to come up with an alternative, and we think it's an idea unlike any other! On September 24 from 2-3 PM CDT, we will be broadcasting TXAPA Squares, a live, virtual game show to raise money for the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association Scholarship Program.
What is “TXAPA Squares,” you ask? It’s TXAPA’s version of the classic game show, Hollywood Squares. If you are familiar with it, you might remember that there are nine celebrity squares and two contestants. The host asks fun trivia questions for which the contestants choose a “square” for the answer. The contestant then agrees or disagrees with the celebrity square. If the contestant is right, he or she gets the square. The goal is to end up with tic-tac-toe.

How does this help raise money for the TXAPA Scholarship Program? Good question! During the event, we will be taking donations via text. To make it more fun, viewers can use their donation to bet on one of the two contestants (Dale Rand or Robert Lee). We will match the winner’s contributions up to 5k.
We hope you will tune in by registering HERE and share this information with everyone you know so we make this event a huge success! Our scholarship recipients are depending on it.
